Meditation Wednesday: Into the New Year We Go

Meditation Wednesday is a monthly series, where we’ll write a meditation piece for you to practice on your own. It will focus on writing, creating and imagining whatever theme we’re tackling for the month.

The start of winter, December, and then the start of January are always so charged with emotion. Raw, often shocking emotions, too. The kinds that bubble-up post the holidays, after the coming together of family and wrapping up the year. There’s often so much on our plates to think through, sort and complete. Completion often become the name of the game. Although, the question becomes completion towards what, for whom and at what cost, really?

Well, it’s Capricorn season, and there’s no better energy to look into what that concept of completion is, and how we can do it so that it’s not just a “New Year’s Resolution” thing. It’s important we make completion a part of our day-to-day experience, understanding what it means to complete a task.

Don’t get us wrong, because there will be times when certain stories and narratives and characters will not be completed in general, but that for us that completion feels structured, heavy and meaningful, like bones (Capricorn-ruled, FYI). Especially with Mercury briefly going into Capricorn at the beginning of January. We say briefly, because it’ll be joining the Sun in Aquarius towards the end of the month. So if your goal is to set the structure that’ll lead to the completion of a strong piece of writing early in the year, this energy is very ideal to get that going.

The Sun, Pluto, Saturn and Mercury in Capricorn and all conducting duos mid-month will be a perfect touch-point to get your storylines and plots cleaned up and ready to go for the first quarter of this year (at least).

The meditation to support you this month is below. Use it wisely, often and frequently… to support you in achieving a little bit of writing success. Also, remember to repeat it or record it to listen to several times throughout the month.

Into the time I go
For the new hours
Into this new day.
Into this new week.
Into this new month.
Into this new year.

Into the time I go
For the new hours
Into this new day.
Into this new week.
Into this new month.
Into this new year.

I complete this new hour with love.
I complete this new day with joy.
I complete this new week with ease.
I complete this new month with peace.
I complete this new year with gratitude.
